Classic Cocktail and Dinner Napkins

This week we are dressing up our tables with cloth napkins! Not only can cloth napkins add an element of whimsy and sophistication, but they are eco-friendly and sustainable. This project is perfect for the larger scraps in your stash. We have curated a fun selection of napkin kits for any and all occasions.

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1: Cutting Your Napkin Fabrics
The fabric requirements for cocktail and dinner napkins are listed in the table above. Press and cut your fabrics to size.
Step 2: Sewing Your Napkins
a) Pin or clip together the front and back pieces of your napkin (right sides facing).

b) Sew a 1/4 inch seam around the edge of the napkin, leaving a 2 inch opening on one of the straight sides.

c) Clip the corners to reduce bulk.

d) Flip the napkin right side out. A point turner can help to create crisp, clean corners. At the opening, fold the front and back fabric inside the napkin 1/4 inch and pin or clip to secure. Whip stitch or use an invisible stitch to close the opening. Give your napkin a good press.

e) Top stitch around the entire perimeter of the napkin. We recommend about a 1/4 inch inseam. Decorative stitches or embroidery can also add a nice touch.
