We're so excited, we just can't contain ourselves! For years, we've seen beautiful quilts inspired by your masterpiece. We read Brenda's book, Dear Jane, learning your story and hers, and fell in love even more. So many interpretations, all unique and all lovely. And how delightful, for a world of quilters to be so fascinated by one woman's wonderful creation. Discovering it in EPP was a revelation, as Jess at Paper Pieces made such a huge undertaking feel so approachable. And so approach we have!

We're finally ready to undertake our own variation of your quilt, inspired both by our love of Liberty Tana Lawn® and the years of history that your quilt has accumulated. Jane, what would you have made of the colors and prints of Tana Lawn®? Would you be a fan of Betsy? Or loved the playful structure of Strawberry Thief? We can’t wait to stitch our way through The Quilt, congratulating and encouraging each other as we make our own heirlooms to be treasured through the years.

Dear Jane Book
It is necessary that you own a copy of Brenda's book, Dear Jane, to complete this project. If you do not own a copy, you can purchase one here, and it will ship in your first BOM box.

What you will receive in your monthly boxes:
• 13 Tana Lawn® prints in the rainbow palette shown.
• All of the necessary EPP papers for that month's row, pre-sorted by block. 
• Capel Black for the cornerstone pieces.
• Solid White Tana Lawn® background fabric (if you've selected the background fabric option).

Background Fabric
We are offering gorgeous Solid White Liberty Tana Lawn® as the background fabric option for Dear Jane. 

Providing Your Own Background Fabric
If you choose to provide your own background fabric, some lovely options include: Liberty Tana Lawn®, linen, chambray, and solid quilting cotton. You will need approximately 14.25 yards of 52" wide fabric or 17 yards of 44" wide fabric. 

Instructions
Dear Jane is a quilt pattern by Brenda Papadakis, based on the 1863 Jane Stickle quilt. It is necessary that you own a copy of Brenda's book Dear Jane to complete this project. We have copies available for purchase to ship in your first month's box, if you do not already own a copy. 

In addition, there will be printed modification booklets included with each month's EPP papers, noting any changes from Brenda's pattern to the EPP papers. 

We will also provide monthly PDF illustrations in your DuckaDilly account to indicate fabric placement for each block.

Email Address
Please check out with the email address that will be used for the duration of the BOM. The email address will be used for important BOM correspondence, such as payment confirmation, shipping updates, and accessing instructions.

EPP Starter Kit
New to EPP? We are offering EPP Starter Kits, which contain our favorite English Paper Piecing notions and a DuckaDilly Zip Pouch. If you choose to purchase an EPP Starter Kit, it will arrive in your first BOM box.

Acrylic Set
The Dear Jane Acrylic Set is available in 1/4" and 3/8" seam allowance. The acrylic set is not necessary to complete the Dear Jane quilt. Because there are so many pieces in the quilt, the 10-piece set only covers the most common shapes.

Sewing Level
Dear Jane is appropriate for confident beginners. We'll be encountering a range of skills, including EPP curves, appliqué, and small pieces. No technique is too complicated, and we'll have tips and tricks along the way! If you are brand new to English Paper Piecing, Dear Jane is a great way to encounter many shapes and techniques! If you are an experienced sewist, Dear Jane still has enough surprises to keep you on your toes!

Shipment Times
• Your first box will ship in October 2025.
• You will receive a monthly shipment for 18 months.

Combined Shipments
Any non-subscriptions items purchased when you sign-up for your subscription will be shipped in your first Dear Jane BOM box. If you would like your other items sooner, please checkout separately.

Dear Jane FAQs
• When you sign up for the BOM, you will immediately be charged for the first month. 
• Once you have signed up, you will not be charged again until the second month of the BOM.
• After completing the 18-month BOM, all participants will receive a one-time 20% off DuckaDilly coupon code. This can be used for backing and binding fabrics or any other sewing needs.
• All subscriptions ship free with Standard US Shipping. International shipping options are calculated and shown at checkout.
• DuckaDilly reserves the right to change the price of future Dear Jane charges with one week of emailed notice.

Liberty Tana Lawn® does not need to be pre-washed before working with it. Because of the high-quality production of the fabric, shrinkage when washing is negligible.

While hang-drying is preferable, you can also tumble dry on low.

Orders are currently being fulfilled in 1-5 businesses days. During sales, fulfillment may take longer.

Please note, shipping times shown at checkout do not include the time for us to fulfill the order.

The customer must provide a secure delivery location. DuckaDilly is not responsible for lost, stolen, or mis-delivered packages. Once a package is in transit, please contact the appropriate shipping carrier for questions or concerns. 

Fabric Order Returns

We regret that fabric cannot be returned as it is custom cut per order.

Non Fabric Returns

Non-fabric purchases can be returned within 30 days of delivery.
Returned non-fabric items must be unopened and in their original condition. Books cannot be returned.

Issues

Any order issues must be reported within two weeks of receipt of your purchase. Order issues will not be considered once fabric has been cut or washed. Please check all items upon receipt and contact us if there is any problem with your purchase. 

US Shipping

We ship via USPS or UPS unless otherwise requested during checkout. USPS packages are currently arriving in 2-10 business days for domestic deliveries.  

International Shipping

International shipping costs are calculated at checkout.

DHL is currently arriving in 3-5 business days.

First Class Package International is currently arriving in 2-6 weeks. For more up to date information on shipping times contact us.

International Customs and Taxes

Customs, duties, taxes and other related fees are not included in your shipping costs.  These fees are determined by your country when ordering internationally. Please be aware of any additional costs that may be applicable to your purchase before ordering. Orders returned to DuckaDilly due to unpaid duties are not refundable. If your order is returned to us, we will reach out regarding any applicable reshipping
fees.
