Step by Step Instructions
Step 1: Cutting Your Napkin Fabrics
Press and cut your fabrics:
Front | Back | |
Cocktail napkin | 10” x 10” | 10” x 10" |
Dinner napkin | 17” x 17” | 17” x 17” |
Step 2: Sewing Your Napkins
a) Pin or clip together the front and back pieces of your napkin (right sides facing).
b) Sew a 1/4 inch seam around the edge of the napkin, leaving a 2 inch opening on one of the straight sides.
c) Clip the corners to reduce bulk.
d) Flip the napkin right side out. A point turner can help to create crisp, clean corners. At the opening, fold the front and back fabric inside the napkin 1/4 inch and pin or clip to secure. Whip stitch or use an invisible stitch to close the opening. Give your napkin a good press.
e) Top stitch around the entire perimeter of the napkin. We recommend about a 1/4 inch inseam. Decorative stitches or embroidery can also add a nice touch.
