Peacock Motif

The peacock was an important motif of the Arts and Crafts Movement. William Morris and his circle created a new aesthetic by incorporating natural forms into their work. The peacock, with rich colors and beautiful feathers, were perfectly suited to be included in the organic designs for wallpaper and fabric in the Arts & Crafts movement.
